Does the Library send out overdue notices?
The Library sends 5 different notices. All notices are sent to the users email address on file, for students this is their official college email unless they have given Admissions a different address.
The first notice is a courtesy notice and is sent 2 days before an item is due.
Notices 2-4 are send when:
1) the overdue item is one day overdue
2) the overdue item is seven days overdue
3) the overdue item is 14 days overdue
The fifth notice is a final/bill. This notice lets the borrower know that the item is 30 days overdue and what the replacement cost is for the item. Also at this time a hold is placed on the person's records in Admissions. The hold is only released when the item is returned or the replacement cost plus processing fee is paid. The Hold prohibits the student from getting their grades, registering for the next semester or getting transcripts.
