Where are items shelved in the Library?

Answer

All library materials are located on the upper floor of the Learning Commons. There are several different collections of books. The majority of the books are part of the "circulating collection". This means the books check out for 3 weeks at a time and can be renewed. The "juvenile collection" is located on the north wall of the building and have blue labels. These also check out for 3 weeks. The "leisure reading collection" is located by the large couch and have yellow labels and a 3 week checkout. DVDs are located directly behind the leisure collection and are available for 3 week check out as well. The "reference collection" is located on the shelving closest to the computer lab. These books do not check out but can be used in the building. Some materials are "on reserve". Your instructor will let you know if specific books/DVDs are on reserve. Some items check out for a specific amount of time, but most are for use in the building only. To access these items stop by the check out desk and let them know what reserve item you need. Newspapers, magazines, and professional journals are located near the west windows on the upper level. These do not check out but are available for use in the building and copies can be made of a specific article for free.
